Dating someone in Odesa

Odesa has its own character: a port, a summer city, a sense of humour that the rest of Ukraine recognises instantly. The women who list it are on average a little older than in Kyiv, and the profiles reflect it — more talk of a calm shared life, grown children, a house by the sea, less of first-time everything. Russian is the everyday language for most; English is more common here than in the smaller cities because of the port and tourism.

The sea front is closed in places and the city has been hit, but daily life continues, and Odesa is connected by train to Moldova and Romania, which makes a first meeting in Bucharest or Chișinău realistic once you have had several video calls.
