Mykolaiv (Nikolaev in older spelling) spent much of 2022 on the front line and has rebuilt around a smaller population. The women who list it are largely those who stayed: many with grown children, many in nursing, teaching, trade or administration, and most writing plainly that they want a calm partnership rather than a romance in letters.
