Video introductions

Roughly one profile in four on AnnaBrides carries a short video the woman recorded to introduce herself. Thirty seconds of someone talking tells you more than an album of photographs: how she holds herself, how she laughs, how she sounds. Many are free to watch and are gathered on the free video introductions page; some profiles have premium videos that cost a few credits each (see pricing). No account is needed to watch the free ones.

Video calls

Once you are writing to each other, either of you can suggest a video call. Calls run inside the site — no phone numbers, no other app, nothing to install — and are charged per minute while the call is open, with the meter on screen. Typing to each other during the call costs nothing on top of it. Either side can end the call at any moment. A woman's profile shows when she is available for a call.

Live chat, and how it differs from a call

Between letters and video there is live chat: a text conversation in real time with a woman in Ukraine, charged per minute while the window is open, with stickers and photographs if you want them. It is the right tool when letters start to feel slow and a call still feels early, and it is where most first calls get arranged. A video chat dating site lives or dies on whether people actually make the call, so the chat window carries a "Video call" button: the call starts from the conversation you are already having, and she sees who is calling.

How is a video call arranged?

There is no booking system and nothing to reserve. You suggest a time in a letter or in chat — her evening in Kyiv is early afternoon in the eastern United States — and at that time you both open the conversation and one of you presses the call button. Her profile shows when she is available for a call; if she is not online, write and propose another time rather than calling into an empty room.

What does a video call cost?

At September 2026 rates a call is charged at two credits a minute, so a fifteen-minute first call is about thirty credits — and that is the whole cost of the call: messages you send while it runs are free, so writing a name or a date on screen never adds to the bill. What a credit costs depends on the package you bought; the current packages and the price of each action are public. The meter runs only while the call is open, it is on screen throughout, and either side can end the call at any moment.

Do I need another app or a phone number?

No. Calls run in the browser, on a phone or a computer, and nothing is installed or exchanged. That is deliberate: the first request to move to WhatsApp or Telegram is the first warning sign we list, and inside the site there is never a reason for it.

Why we push video so hard

A live call is the one check that cannot be faked with an old photograph or a borrowed video: the person in front of you is the person you are talking to, now. That is why the verification page ends with it, why the safety guide tells you to ask for one before any plans, and why someone who keeps finding reasons not to has, in effect, answered you. A real person who has enjoyed your letters will say yes — perhaps nervously — once you have exchanged a few.

Making the first call easy

• Suggest it after a few letters, not in the first. Say what you would like to talk about so it is not an interview.
• Agree a time in her time zone. Kyiv is seven hours ahead of New York; her evening is your lunchtime.
• Keep it short. Ten or fifteen minutes is a good first call. Long enough to see each other, short enough that nobody runs out of things to say.
• Language. Agree beforehand how you will manage if her English is limited. Speak slowly, use short sentences, and do not be afraid of silence.
• Light and sound. Face a window, put the phone at eye level, use earphones if you have them. It matters more than what you wear.
• Expect interruptions. Power cuts and unstable internet are part of life in Ukraine. A dropped call is a dropped call.

After the call

Write to her the same day, even briefly. The second call is easier than the first, and by the third you will know more than a hundred letters could tell you.
