Editorial policy

1. Purpose

AnnaBrides publishes guides so that a person can decide, before and after joining, how to use a site like this well and safely. The guides exist to be useful on their own; a reader who follows them and never registers has still been served. This policy applies to everything under Dating advice and to the information pages of the site.

2. Who writes

Guides are written and signed by the AnnaBrides Editorial Team, a working group inside the company that operates the site. We do not publish under invented names and we do not attribute credentials to anyone who does not hold them. Where a guide would need a professional's judgement — medical, psychological, legal, immigration — it does not pretend to supply it; it points to the primary source and says so.

3. The process

1. Research. We start from what readers actually ask: search queries, support tickets, moderation cases, and what existing pages on the same question leave out.
2. Sources. Every claim that is not common knowledge is tied to a source before the draft is written. Preferred sources, in order: primary documents (laws, official statistics, a regulator's own guidance); law-enforcement and consumer-protection agencies; official government travel advice; recognised reference works and peer-reviewed research. Blogs, forums and other dating sites are not sources for facts.
3. Drafting. One guide, one question. Plain language, short sentences, the answer first. No filler to reach a word count.
4. Factual review. A second member of the team checks each claim against its cited source and each statement about the site against how the site actually works. Guides that touch safety, scams or money are additionally checked by the people responsible for trust and safety on the platform.
5. Publication. Each guide shows its author, its publication date and its sources.
6. Periodic update. Guides are reviewed when a cited source changes, when the site changes, when a reader reports a problem, and in any case at least once a year. The "updated" date changes only when the text materially changes.

4. Rules

• No stereotypes as facts. We do not write that people of a nationality "are" or "prefer" anything. We describe documented context, we describe what members on this site say in their own profiles as exactly that, and we leave room for the individual.
• No fabricated evidence. No invented statistics, studies, quotes, testimonials, experts or reviews. If we do not have a source, we do not make the claim.
• No copying. We do not reproduce or paraphrase other publishers' articles. Facts are re-verified at their source and written in our own words.
• Assisted writing. Drafting tools, including software, may be used for research and drafting; a person is responsible for every published sentence, every claim is checked by a person, and nothing is published without that review.
• Commercial separation. Guides link to the site's own pages where that helps the reader. They carry no paid placements and no affiliate links, and the advice in a safety guide is the same whether or not it leads to a registration.
• Privacy. Guides never use members' names, photographs or messages, even anonymised, without the member's written permission.

5. Corrections

Errors are corrected on the page itself, with the updated date moved and, for a material correction, a short note at the end of the guide saying what changed. Reports go to support@annabrides.com and are answered.

6. Conflict of interest

The editorial team is part of a company that earns money when members write letters and make calls. That interest is real and is stated on every guide. It is managed by the rules above and by one test we apply to every safety guide: would we give this advice to a member of our own family?
